What is the E-XC?

We took the concept of a snowmobile and stripped it down to what matters. No bulk, fumes, or bark, just quiet electric power under your feet. Electric skis exist to get more people outside and push the limits of winter adventure. Think snowmobile meets nordic skis with a dusting of alpine ski fun. Hence the name, E-XC, Electric Cross Country.

Frigid Dynamics FAQs

Quick answers to the things you’re wondering—so you can decide if E-XC is right for you.

Aren’t electric skis cheating? Do you still get a workout?

icon

Not at all. Electric skis enhance the time you spend outside in the snow. You’re still carving, balancing, engaging your core, legs, and stabilizer muscles the entire time. The electric assist simply helps with momentum and longer runs, meaning you can ski farther and stay out longer. Think of it like an e-bike: you’re still active, just with smarter support.

How is the E-XC controlled?
icon
icon

What is the E-XC's range?
icon
icon

The E-XC can travel 10 miles/16 kilometers on a single charge. Extra batteries can also be purchased for longer expeditions.

How much does the E-XC system weigh?

Is E-XC designed for backcountry touring?
icon
icon

No, E-XC is not designed for use in the backcountry, or as a replacement for skinning. E-XC is designed for high speed XC touring. It thrives on more moderate, undulating terrain like snowmobile trails, nordic trails, fields, fire roads, and anywhere where there's dense snow coverage.
